Money From Home (1953/Legend Films DVD/Paramount)

Oddly not included in the recent Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis DVD box from Paramount, the studio has decided to license out this film to Legend as part of the slate of features they have let them handle.  For the record, here is our coverage of that Martin/Lewis box:

This is no worse than Pardners with gambling fool Martin turning to wacky cousin Lewis to help him pay his horse racing debts.  Hal Kanter co-wrote and directed this minor entry in the teams’ cycle of hit films and it is good for completists, but was only so impressive overall.  No big laughs, but at least I smiled a few times.

The 1.33 X 1 image is clean, but colors are dull and far from the luster the original three-strip dye-transfer Technicolor print would have had.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono is compressed and aged.  The only extra is a trailer.
