Back To The Barnyard – When No One’s Looking (Nickelodeon DVD)

Another hit for young children than comprise the Nickelodeon cable network family is Back To The Barnyard, which is simple fun built on a few gag ideas about what that life might be like, usually having just enough fun to keep the show going.  I think it is a decent, child-friendly show, though it can get too silly for its own good.  Still, you could do far worse and the show is never condescending.

The 1.33 X 1 image is clean basic CG animation that is not state-of-the-art, but like Chicken Little only needs to emulate simple children’s illustrated books.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is just fine for a recent recording with good dialogue recording, though there are no surrounds.  The only extras are animatics for two of the eight episodes.
