Nassiri seems to mean well in making music for ends that include spirituality,
world peace and an end to things like war and racism, but Love See No Color feels more like a naïve throwback to the 1970s,
with the videos playing like someone’s attempt to compete with Sesame Street and public television of
the time. Sincerity is good, but none of
the twelve following songs ever said anything more than “be happy and nice”:
1)
Yesterday’s Gone
2)
Love Is The Reason
3)
Love Sees No Color
4)
Chasing The Wind
5)
Jini
6)
Highway
7)
Vagabond
8)
Homeless
9)
Dance Of Life
10) Rainfall
11) Woman
12) Heaven
That is
no crime, but it just never worked for me in any case. You could do worse, but for all the music,
political product and children’s programming we get, this is no match for the
same messages said at their best. You
could do worse, but also better. Try it
only after encountering samples!
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image on the DVD is digital video of some kind
with some good color, but definition is a problem and the Dolby Digital 5.1 and
2.0 soundmixes can be a little edgy and phony at times. The PCM 2.0 16/44.1 Stereo sound on the CD is
a little better, but this is not produced or engineered particularly well. A booklet with lyrics is the only extra,
though since the DVD has no main program to speak of, we’ll count it as an
extra as well.
