Most
people are aware of the 1987 sleeper hit The
Big Easy starring Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin, what most people are not
familiar with though is the two season show that arrived 9 years too late in
1996 starring Tony Crane and Susan Walters.
The show would only run two seasons, the first season contained
22-episodes which are all contained in this 4-disc set.
Unfortunately
interest in the show never really caught on and because of its late arrival it
had little momentum to pump the show up.
Had it arrived in the last 80’s it may have had a better chance,
especially with Miami Vice coming to
a close after running for five seasons?
However, by the mid 90’s, people turned their attention to shows like ER instead. While the show is interesting even years
later, and even now on DVD, it’s easy to see how it couldn’t hold on and hold
interest long after a few seasons.
For DVD
the film is presented in full-frame 1.33 X 1 with a 2.0 Dolby Digital mix,
which are fine and work, but nothing super special. Fans will probably want this set, there is no
mention of season two arriving, they probably could have combined them and been
done with it, but that’s not the case.
