Wanted: Dead or Alive (The Best Of/BCI Eclipse DVD)

For those who might not want to drop $30 per season of the show, which ran three seasons and starred Steve McQueen from 1958-1961, now available is the ‘Best Of’ collection, which features 9-episodes.

Reunion for Revenge

Secret Ballot

The Legend

The Hostage

Empty Cell

Angela

The Monster

The Twain Shall Meet

 

 

Serious fans will not be satisfied thought as these 9-episodes, while good, do not embody enough of the series and of course those fans will want the three individual seasonal volumes that are out on DVD.  However, for those who simply want to whet their appetite for this show, this is a great way to get involved in the groundbreaking series that would launch McQueen into his star-studded career.

 

It’s easy to see how that could happen too, even in this 9-episodes we quickly become aware of how McQueen steals the show, steals each scene, and is hard to take your attention away from as he plays the sawed off shotgun slinging man makes his living in the ‘ole days’.

 

Each show is 30-minutes and is presented here in full-frame 1.33 X 1 looking quite good for its age with a 2.0 mono soundtrack to accompany it.  Both are adequate with all things considered.
