SpongeBob SquarePants – Spongicus/Back To The Barnyard – Cowman: The Uddered Avenger/Ni Hao, Kai-lan – Celebrate With Kai-lan (Nickelodeon DVDs)

Nickelodeon continues to release mostly DVD singles of their major TV shows and of the three recently issued, two are movie spoofs.  SpongeBob SquarePants – Spongicus is a somewhat of a send-up of the Stanley Kubrick hit Spartacus (1960, reviewed elsewhere on this site) while Back To The Barnyard – Cowman: The Uddered Avenger sends up superhero shows and films, especially Batman.  That leaves Ni Hao, Kai-lan – Celebrate With Kai-lan continues one of the newer shows that break the fourth wall to interact with the child audience.

All are 1.33 X 1 framed with Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo, but Barnyard is a little softer than the last release we looked at.  All but Kai-lan have extras, which are storyboards, while Spongicus adds related stills.  All are child-friendly and worth it if that child in your house wants it.
