Charlie & Me (2008/Telefilm/Genius DVD)

Picture: C+     Sound: C+     Extras: C-     Telefilm: C-

David Weaver’s Charlie & Me (2008) is a child-safe melodrama about a young 12-year-old girl (Jordy Benattar) and her grandfather (Tom Bosley of Happy Days) who have a close relationship, which twists her up when he gets sick and starts going to the hospital.  It is boring and not always good, has few moments that work and Bosley stops this from being totally a dud, but you could do much better and this is a time killer at best.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is a little clearer than average, but nothing special, while the Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is weak and towards the front speakers for the most part.  Extras include a sort of epilogue follow-up that is not included in the body of the main program for whatever reasons.
