Depth Charge (RHI/Genius DVD)

Picture: C+     Sound: C+     Extras: D     Telefilm: D

Save for The Dark Knight, Eric Roberts longtime rut continues with a terrible would-be submarine thriller called Depth Charge (2008) with Jason Gedrick, about a takeover of a nuclear submarine and with a nuclear threat.  This Crimson Tide wanna-be thinks it can somehow one-up that hit, but does not have any of the acting or screenplay brains to come close.  Barry Bostwick also shows up, but this is just very, very bad and Gedrick should have called this Iron Tin Can.  Yawn!

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image has its motion blur but does not look as bad as expected and RHI is putting a little more money on screen, if not in the scripts.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo has no Pro Logic surrounds and is weak.  There are no extras.
