Mighty B! – We Got The B! (Nickelodeon/Paramount DVD)

Poehler is a good comic actress with above average choices for material and
superior timing, so when the two don’t meet, she is amusing yet not up to
par. As the lead voice in the animated Mighty B! series she co-created, she
has to pull back on some of her persona to give birth to the main character, Bessie
Higgenbottom. The show is just about
child friendly enough and not awful, but it did not leave the greatest impact
on me either.
There are
8 episodes here (fitting four shows?) and it is as much a sample of the show as
you will need to figure out what you think of it, including the title of the
disc (We Got The B!) a nod to The
Go-Gos. Too bad the shows were not that
witty.
The 1.33
X 1 image is not bad with minor detail issues, good color and only the
occasional aliasing error, while the Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is typical for
such a show with slightly harsh sound and decent fidelity. Extras include a Music Video, Animatic for
one of the episodes and behind the scenes piece that is brief.
