Yes, here
is another of several thousand films in the Horror genre where a group of teens
are being targeted for death for no reason and are going to die. This is usually because the writers cannot
write, but Andreas Prochaska’s Dead In 3 Days (2006) is different in
that it takes place in Germany and at least had some potential because it had
some patience between killings.
The title
refers to a text message each victim (except those watching the film) on their
cell phones before calamity strikes.
Maybe it is time to cancel their service. At times, you would think you were watching
an ambitious film, especially as compared to the U.S. versions, but this is
dead in less than 30 of its 93 minutes and only worth the time of obsessed
Horror fans.
The
anamorphically enhanced 1.85 X 1 image is much softer than it should be for
what looks like a really decent shoot by David Slama, locations and all. I even liked some of the editing, but it does
not go anywhere. The Dolby Digital
German 5.1 mix is better than the English 5.1, but both have uneven soundfields
showing the budget limits. There are no
extras.
