Black Sheep (1996/Paramount Blu-ray)

Picture: B-     Sound: B-     Extras: D     Film: D

Black Sheep is supposed to be about a goofy, but loving brother (Chris Farley) just wanting to help his older brother (Tim Matheson) win state Governor with the help of a campaign aide (David Spade).  This "movie" has very little plot and is just more of a collection of scenes.  Scenes that are unfunny and just plain annoying, almost to the point of unbearable.  Chris Farley quickly goes from quiet, to loud/angry and it is supposed to make us laugh.  David Spade pops in and out just enough to make smart-ass quips and they are supposed to make us laugh.  Throw in a few ridiculous Gary Busey scenes, and repeat for 90 minutes.  That is Black Sheep.  What a waste of an hour and a half it is.  Somehow because of Chris Farley's death his movies are still remembered.  After watching Black Sheep, this reviewer quickly asked "Why?"

There is not a single scene in this movie that would stand out on Blu-Ray, but the 1080p 1.78 X 1 High Definition picture looks quite well and the 5.0 Dolby TrueHD sound was impressive.  Another poor movie that has received an unworthy transfer, even if it is not demo quality.

There is not a single extra on the disc.  Not even a trailer.  Needless to say, this is for those who have money to burn.
