An interesting, ambitious TV movie, we first looked at Scoop (1987) a good few years ago in a Canadian NTSC edition:

Now we have a newer PAL DVD import from Network U.K. and despite some very, very slight improvements in the color of the image, the transfer source is the same as the older DVD and Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono is the same as well.  Seeing Donald Pleasence, Michael Malone, Denholm Elliott, Nicola Pagett, Herbert Lom and Renée Soutendijk in the same production is the #1 reason to check this out again, so suffering through dated playback quality is worth it because this is still worth a look.
