Formed in
Melbourne, Australia in 1975, The Little River Band became hitmakers in the
1970s with over a dozen Top 40 hits into the 1980s in the U.S. alone. Their
music is still alive on the radio, in hits sets and licensed to hit films and
TV shows, but more material is in the vaults and Cherry Red has licensed a 1981
concert and issued it on DVD through Music Video Distributors. Live
Exposure: Live In Texas is a filmed concert (75 minutes) of the band at
their glory peak.
The songs
here include:
1)
It’s A Long Way There
2)
Man On Your Mind
3)
Mistress Of Mine
4)
Happy Anniversary
5)
Don’t Let The Meddle Win
6)
Reminiscing
7)
Ballerina
8)
Cool Change
9)
The Night Owls
10) Help Is On The Way
11) Lonesome Loser
12) It’s Not A Wonder Lady
13) Just Say That You Love Me
It is a
good concert and I just wish it had been longer and since they had more hits
ahead, you will not hear The Other Guy
and was surprised not to hear Take It
Easy On Me, but it is a good, solid show by a band that never got the
respect it deserved for all the hits it had.
They still play together, but no comeback singles have emerged. This is worth seeing if you like their music.
The 1.33
X 1 image was originally shot on film, but this is a very poor analog video
transfer of the original material, material that could be upgraded and
remastered for DVD and Blu-ray. In its
softness, you can see the good color and it was certainly a good-looking show
for its type. The Dolby Digital 2.0
sound is barely stereo and a few generations down as well, but is less worn by
default. Previews for other Cherry Red
product are the only extras, limited as that is.
