Justice League - The Complete Series (Warner Animation/DVD Set)

Picture: B     Sound: B    Extras: B+     Episodes: A+

Few series have made as resounding a contribution to the annals of superhero animation than Warner's Justice League. Throughout both its incarnations as Justice League and then Justice League Unlimited the creative team (including principals Bruce Timm and Dwayne McDuffie) maintained an incredible standard of quality in plots, stories, and overall direction. This collection combines it all. Ninety-one episodes, fourteen discs, and really slick metallic slip-case truly make this the ultimate collection for the avid Justice League fan.

The set contains all of the extras from previous releases, including creator commentaries, making-of shorts, and interviews.
Additionally, a new feature entitled Unlimited Reserve: Exploring the Depths of the DC Universe has been included. This documentary addresses the creative team's quest to include some of the more obscure DC heroes and villains in the mix of the show. Indeed, Justice League Unlimited fans well know the show's penchant for highlighting lesser lights like B'wana Beast, Mister Miracle, and Kirby 4th World villain Granny Goodness.

Just in time for the holidays, Justice League
The Complete Series will be the ultimate gift for any superhero animation fan, and its wonderful bevy of extras and solid packaging will make it worthy of numerous screenings.

The older shows are presented in 1.33 X 1 and sequel show in anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1, looking just fine for the format. All have Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo. You can read more about the series at this link:
