Kyle XY – Final Season/The Complete Third Season (2009/ABC-Disney DVD)

Almost quitting while they were ahead, Kyle XY comes to its Final Season and the wear and tear of the TV grind are very apparent in this third outing.  You can read more about the first two seasons at these links:

The genetically engineered title character (Matt Dallas) who has no belly button is back and more boring than ever.  Unless you start with the first season and actually like the show, then follow it through, you’ll find this as intriguing as showing up at someone else’s funeral not knowing anyone.  If anything, this is just to wrap up everything and that is all.  Fans should be glad they quit when they did.

 

Like the last sets, the anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is soft and lacks depth, despite some color consistency.  The Dolby Digital 5.1 is too front heavy for its own good, making the 5.1 upgrade still feel like an afterthought.  Extras this time include deleted scenes, select audio commentary tracks on some episodes and the featurette Kyle XY: Future Revealed.  That’s one future I never want to go back to.
