Kathy Griffin – She’ll Cut A Bitch: Uncensored (Shout! Factory DVD)

Kathy Griffin is on a roll.  She may have ended her marriage and cannot stop saying the first thing that comes to mind, but that has not stopped her from success.  In the provocatively titled Kathy Griffin – She’ll Cut A Bitch, she continues to go after her favorite targets: Neo-Conservatives, movie stars and dish about her life in the twilight zone between success and failure.

 

We also get great stories about several award shows, Cher, Suzie Orman and James Gandolfini.  It is also obvious she has succeeded mentor Joan Rivers as the most provocative female stand-up alive.  Lasting about an hour, she knows when she is going too far, but does it to best effect.  Once she starts, she does not stop.  If you like her comedy, you’ll enjoy this DVD.

 

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is a little soft but just fine and colorful to watch the concert.  An HD shoot, the camera is almost always centered on Griffin and that works just fine.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is also sufficient to hear all her jokes and some of the audience, with very limited Pro Logic-type surrounds.  The only extra is bonus stand up never before released.
