The sad thing about Michael
Jackson – The Life & Times Of The King Of Pop: 1958 – 2009 (2009) is
that someone did their research and figured out what some of the better footage
would be to put together for a chronological release on the late Pop
singer. Unfortunately, the footage is
not in the best of shape and is not presented in any particularly effective
way. This is a good idea done poorly,
but reminds us that Sony/Epic should have issued. This is a poor substitute and even diehard
fans may have trouble with it.
The 1.33 X 1 image offers various aspect ratios, some of
which are so awkward that they are just sloppy.
The image is very poor throughout with what often looks like bad,
ultra-low quality, noisy, internet-weak downloads. This is one of the poorest-looking music DVD
releases I have seen in a while. The
Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is almost as weak, often harsh and highly problematic throughout. There are no extras.
