Les Dawson is a variety host/comedian you may not have heard from if you are not in the U.K., but he was a huge success and this included his hit TV show Sez Les, which ran from 1969 to 1976.  This is our first time seeing the show, but Dawson, who we first encountered from a collection of surviving specials he did for ITV that you can read more about at this link:

This Volume Three set runs 3 DVDs and pretty much follows the same format as the specials and even features some of his same characters.  One big difference is that John Cleese shows up in more than a few of the skits and you get more shows here overall vs. the previous release.  Dawson even sings and you get more musical guests.  Olivia Newton-John, Lynsey de Paul and Lulu (singing no less than David Bowie’s The Man Who Sold The World!) are back.  Also appearing are Labi Siffre, Clive Dunn, Dana, Slade and David Essex among others.  This set also includes the 1973 Christmas Special.

That is enough to make this set better than it would be just on Dawson and the majority of skits that I yet again did not care for.  Cleese had just finished Monty Python and fans will want to see him here.

As for picture and sound, they are the same as the Specials, except that the picture is slightly better and sound slightly worse than the Specials set.  The only extras are stills, unless you count the Xmas show.

As noted above, you can order this DVD import exclusively from Network U.K. at:
