After missing a few half-seasons, we now get to look at Dynasty towards the end of its peak run in the new Season Four, Volume Two set.  For those unfamiliar with the show, try this link to the First Season:

This is sadly the last of the shows Pamela Sue Martin made as Fallon, leaving the show now that she felt it had done all it could do.  Al Corley had already left and she did not have as good a chemistry with his successor.  The thirteen hour-long shows do have the last great character added to the show before it started to decline: Diahann Carroll as Dominique Deveraux, a character the actress was thrilled to play because she wanted to become “TV’s first black bitch” and as instantly glamorous as any of the ladies on the show, saved it from declining sooner than it would have otherwise.  The writing was still solid and amazingly continued the storyline without flaw or distraction from the first episode, which is not an easy thing to do.

The 1.33 X 1 image is decent yet again like al the previous sets, but despite the can come with some limits in color and detail despite the money on screen.  I believe a Blu-ray version would be surprisingly good and the show is popular enough to justify this.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono is still nice and clean for its age, so the combination is good, but it is odd that the show was still monophonic at this point as stereo was not with TV yet.  There are sadly no extras.
