Flicks has issued their version of Byron Haskin’s 1954 Long John Silver film, which I previously reviewed in a restored widescreen
edition on VCI DVD at this link:

This 1.33
X 1 image is a butchered version that is very soft, looks like a very bad TV
print with the sides of the image cut off, resulting in tunnel vision and color
is poor. The PCM 16/48 2.0 Mono is
really low, rough and compressed, so be very careful of playback levels and
volume switching. The combination is no
match for the VCI edition. Neither are
the extras, which only includes Trailers and Intermission shorts, while the VCI
DVD has more. Now if only VCI would
issue their version on Blu-ray.
