Art Of Ballet + French Art Of Seduction + Love Kittens: Four Sexy Classics From The 60s (First Run DVD Compilation Sets)

Picture: C     Sound: C+     Extras: C     Main Programs: C+

First Run has issued three collections of previously released singles we happened to have covered over the years, so links follow in most cases for those interested:

Art Of Ballet includes…

Ballerina (2006: 1.33 X 1 Picture (shot on PAL video and a bit weak): C     Dolby Digital 2.0 Sound (with some cutouts): C+     Extras: C     Episodes: C+) – This is the only title we did not cover and features five dancers from what is now the former Soviet Union (still fresh in the memory of the makers here) is a decent 77 minutes documentary about how new generations of dancers are coming up the ranks to be the next big names.  It is pretty involving and I just wish it were longer.  Those who have seen Black Swan will find it especially interesting, which does extend to the other titles in the set.  We get much behind-the-scenes footage and the interviews give insight into this world, so it works, except maybe it talks about Russia more like we have never heard of it before when we have.  Extras include stills, Dance Film Gallery (trailers including some of the releases here) and text on Director Bertrand Normand.

The Dancer

Prima Ballerina

French Art Of Seduction includes…

La Désenchanté/Disenchanted

La Petite Lili

La Vie Promise

Love Kittens includes…

Daniela By Night

Nude Set

Sweet Ecstasy

Twilight Girls

All are handy space-saving compilations worth getting if you want all the titles, but in less space.
