Pro-Wrestlers Vs Zombies (2014/Troma Blu-ray)

Picture: B- Sound: B- Extras: C Film: C-

Pro-Wrestlers Vs Zombies (2014), a low budget flick directed by Cody Knotts is exactly what it sounds like pitting the late 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper, Kurt Angle, Matt Hardy, 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan, former ECW World Champion 'The Franchise' Shane Douglas against a horde of the undead in a bloodfest only Troma could deliver. If you're a fan of wrestling and zombies, then this may be your dream movie.

After Shane "The Franchise" Douglas accidentally kills a fellow wrestler in the ring, the deceased wrestler's brother Angus (Ashton Amherst) decides to take matters into his own hands by summoning an ancient demon to seek revenge. He's granted the power of necromancy and Angus wastes no time in tricking Shane and Rowdy Roddy Piper into traveling to a remote location by promising them money in return for a personal appearance. Once there, Shane and Roddy must fight their way through hordes of flesh-eating zombies and stop Angus before he takes his revenge any further.

Presented in 1.78 X 1 1080p digital high definition and a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the film looks and sounds fine on Blu-ray but doesn't benefit as many bigger budgeted films would due to its low production equipment. Why no lossless sound?

Extras include...

Intro by Lloyd Kaufman

Director's Commentary

Theatrical Trailer

Exclusive Tromatic Extras

All in all, if you're not a wrestling fan, you may not be too blown away by the film but it still manages to be campy fun with some pretty good Zombie kills thrown into the mix.
