U2 – The DVD Collector’s Box (Music Video Distributors)

Picture: C+     Sound: C+     Extras: C-     Main Programs: C+

Before Chrome Dreams and Music Video Distributors hit it big with the Under Review series, they issued any kind of title they could on major music artists, even if they did not have original music.  They always did feature hard-to-find footage and that is why they survived in the marketplace.  U2 – The DVD Collector’s Box is simply a reissue of U2 – An Unforgettable Journey and Bono – God’s Favourite Son.

Having seen more U2 than we needed in DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-ray already, we did not know what we were going to get and we can tell you that these show their age and are on the rough side.  However, fans of Bono and the band will be happy with the hour-long programs and quiz extras.

The 1.33 X 1 image on both programs show their age too originating on professional analog PAL video and the Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is sufficient for documentary presentations.  A discography is the only other extra and only on the Bono DVD.
