The Speeches Collection - Volume Two: Republicans vs. Democrats (BCI Eclipse DVD)

MPI continues their Speeches Collection DVD series with historical moments from four more President of the United States: Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman.  The great value of these discs, dubbed Republicans vs. Democrats, lets you see what these men really had to say, said and allows you to interpret their words and actions for yourself instead of getting it second hand in revisionist form from bad talk shows and slanted political shows that throw the facts and political science out the window.

 

These types of special interest releases seem to have gone into decline on DVD, so it is a nice change of pace to see such a release from anyone.  Hope the series continues.

 

The 1.33 X 1 images are usually black and white, all filmed and some are from videotape copies, so like a documentary, image quality can vary.  However, these are usually watchable.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono is also only as good as the age of the material, so expect noise more often than not.  There are no extras.
